READ DESCRIPTION FOR MORE METHODS! If your drive intermittently opens / closes make sure your terminals are making a closed circuit. If your drive gives the “open tray” error, grease up your gears and clean your motor band. Also, cleaning the laser lens w/ a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol will help. Check to make sure your laser is properly aligned, and if not re-align it. (the laser should be approx. one inch away from the circular spindle when the drive is closed. ) GOOD LUCK!

This is a fix for noisy Wii DVD drives, and the reason for the noise as well…. note that this will also fix disc reading errors, caused by this vibration. i tried diffrent methods shown here on youtube, but none worked for me, so i observed my noise making wii and found my problem 🙂 like you see in the video, there are two metal tabs in the front of the drive opening that prevent you from inserting a disc when one is already in. but theses tabs are not super strong and can be easely bent when someone (kids or electronics noob) really wants to put a game in without checking first if one is already inside. that will result in bending the tabs. and theses tabs will then rub against the disc in the console, making the irritating noise and DRE. i hope this helps you, post a comment if it did, thanks 🙂

HP Pavilion DV series are known for their issues with the cooling system, resulting in melting the video chip’s solder and moving the video chip over if the laptop is set at an angle (like with an oversized 9 or 12 cell battery). The fix we found came from the XBox 360 fix of the red flashing light, also caused by a problem with video. You would normally want to use a re-flow station specifically made for this purpose, however, if you are like me, just bake the thing at around 400 degrees for 10mins on a flat surface, which will melt the solder and allow the suction under the video chip to pull itself back into place. So there you go – baking he motherboard fixed the issue!

This particular motherboard was unsuccessful, however you’ll find this simple method of identifying blow capacitors and replacing them is quite easy. It’s always good to develop your skills using items that haven’t cost a cent. Any muted audio parts of the video would be due to my foal language. Sorry for that.
