Samsung S27A850D Display does not pick up the signal of a PC: Dell Studio XPS with a ATI Radeon HD 3600 video adapter. Also tried other pc’s but all showed the same problem. You have to start up with a split screen and after the operating system is loaded you can go back to the full screen. After repair by Samsung, the monitor worked fine. They told me it was a problem with the power supply?
This monitor would power on then go back off. This symptom is caused by a very common problem that has affected most modern computer electronics in the last 10 years. Cheap and faulty capacitors. LCD monitors are no different and you can save yourself hundreds of dollars trying to replace them by simply replacing some of the faulty capacitors inside. All you need is basic tools, some replacement capacitors and basic soldering skills. Total retail parts cost for this job was about $6, if you order them in bulk you may be able to pay less than $1!!!!!!!! This Acer monitor has been in my office for a few years, it died early and was close to end of warranty but was never shipped off due to a lazy employee in the past that waited too long. My sister Sony Ericsson W595 earpiece no sound. First I suspect the speaker part. When checked deep inside two line of the main ribbon from back to front panel was teared. Then I replace the ribbon. Fortunately the price is cheap. Finally, it fixed. The phone show good in LCD, no display problem that was tricky. But going dept into ribbon there only two line affected which is might be the earpiece connection.

(search for torx on Maplin or Amazon) A small bladed screwdriver, plastic knife and maybe some tweezers to grab the screws. If you need to replace the touch screen (digitizer) I recommend you get one that comes already in a frame. If you get one without the frame, you’ll need to carefully remove the damaged screen and then glue the new one back in. I found the middle ‘MENU’ button didn’t work after doing this. If pressing the ‘menu’ key brings up the ‘Unlock’ icon while the screen lock is active you know the buttons working OK. After connecting to Ovi Suite it was working fine again. If you still have trouble, try updating or re-installing the firmware using Ovi Suite.
