This is my dell monitor. After turning on the power button the screen would go blank after a couple seconds and the power light would stay on. I searched the problem online and found out it was the inverter on the power board. I found a new power board on eBay and replaced it in this video. Sorry it was so bright but I accidentally had the camera set to night shot lol. Hope this video helps you to repair yours. Thumbs up if it did. Peace
Monitors fail. In most cases, it’s a capacitor problem and you can cheaply and easily identify and replace them. For me it wasn’t and this is the solution I found to get me by until I can afford a new one.
I bought this laptop in Aug 08 and within 6 months the screen was flickering… badly! Then it went away for a few months and returned with a mission to destroy my life. So I downloaded the repair manual and with the help of the notebookreview.com forum I repaired it. This is the film of the book of the story. First off I want to say “THANKS!” to Amazon for the great support they provide their customers. I’m always amazed when I have an issue with a purchase because Amazon always steps up to the plate and helps, no matter what the issue is. On to the review… I’ve actually received 2 of these monitors and they both had the same problem… For a lack of a better way to describe it.. they both have a lite leak in the bottom right hand corner. One of the monitors was worse than the other in that it had other places that “lite” up the screen. I decided to do a video review because I’m hoping it will better show the problem I’ve had. I have contacted Samsung twice by phone and three times in email. I haven’t heard a word from the email but both of the representatives I spoke with felt they were defective monitors. The last rep was able to pull up the pictures I had sent to see what the issue was. Only suggestion he had was for me to send it to Samsung for repair. I think Samsung should test one to make sure it works ok and send it to me in exchange for one of the bad ones… Of course that’s just my thought. I originally didn’t like this monitor because I thought it looked like a sewing machine… 🙂 I have to admit it’s a beautiful monitor with spectacular color. Only wish we could resolve the “small” issue I have… If I don’t hear anything more from Samsung I am going to request Amazon to send me a third one in hope it might be a’ok. Hi, recently purchased a new monitor, it also has HDMI ports and component. So my PS3 & Wii is also connected to it. Very nice HD quality monitor. Blu-Ray looks excellent in it’s 1080p quality. Enjoy.
This method allows you to have the best resolution up to 1080p with the HDMI cable. The signal is digital so its clearer and more precise. Digital is always the way to go. And don’t buy the Microsoft Cable, they suck, they only support analog signals unless the only signal your screen supports is analog.
