– Starting with OS X 10.5 there are evident memory management problems in MAC OS X. The web was already then cluttered with complaints about system slowing down dramatically after some time. Back then i had slower machine, Mac Mini with 1GB RAM, so i (wrongly) concluded that it was due to inferior hardware. — Now i have 2010 MBP, core i7, 8 GB RAM, dual GPU. Mac os X Snow Leopard was pain, but after migrating to OS X Lion, working some serious stuff on MAC started to be a nightmare. — I finally managed to reproduce the problematic scenario, so i run the test and recorded the screen, into video. I run the tar+bzip command, which is basic unix stuff, on the large amount of picture files, in my Pictures/ folder. Just before start, i run the “purge” command, to delete inactive/cached program data. — You can see on the video that free memory starts to drop very fast, and inactive is constantly rising. If you take a look at “bsdtar” command, it takes only a fragment of RAM, so the problem is not in this process. You cannot say that it is a program memory leak, because then the problem would not be in inactive ram, rather in active/wired. — When the free memory dropped below 100mb, i started some apps, like Safari, iPhoto and MS Word, and you can see in the video, that it takes even minutes (!) to start an app, when normally (when there is free RAM), it would take some 3-5 secs to load. — I run the same scenario and the same commands on my Linux Centos 6 box, no problem …

Samsung Monitor S27A950D Issues
First off I want to say “THANKS!” to Amazon for the great support they provide their customers. I’m always amazed when I have an issue with a purchase because Amazon always steps up to the plate and helps, no matter what the issue is. On to the review… I’ve actually received 2 of these monitors and they both had the same problem… For a lack of a better way to describe it.. they both have a lite leak in the bottom right hand corner. One of the monitors was worse than the other in that it had other places that “lite” up the screen. I decided to do a video review because I’m hoping it will better show the problem I’ve had. I have contacted Samsung twice by phone and three times in email. I haven’t heard a word from the email but both of the representatives I spoke with felt they were defective monitors. The last rep was able to pull up the pictures I had sent to see what the issue was. Only suggestion he had was for me to send it to Samsung for repair. I think Samsung should test one to make sure it works ok and send it to me in exchange for one of the bad ones… Of course that’s just my thought. I originally didn’t like this monitor because I thought it looked like a sewing machine… I have to admit it’s a beautiful monitor with spectacular color. Only wish we could resolve the “small” issue I have… If I don’t hear anything more from Samsung I am going to request Amazon to send me a third one in hope it might be a’ok. I’m also going to see if I can find one in a …
PC computer Problem.wmv
Just build my first PC but it will not enter the BIOs. Monitor don’t even have signal through both HDMI and DVI. Everything seems to run fine but these 3 blinking red LEDs. The first is VGA, second is CPU and third is DRAM led. Is this a faulty motherboard or did I connect something wrong? These are pictures of my connections. there are only 7 pictures and then the pictures repeat. Please see if you can find any mistakes. Especially the Power supply since I just plug in if it fits. The 2 blue ones are connected to graphics card. The other black ones are connected to the SSD and optical drive. The black one at the bottom is connected to fans. Maybe the power supply is wired wrong? Please give input if you can. Thank you!
