Hanns G Monitor Problem
My problem with my second Hanns G HG281D. Seems a lot of people are having problems with these. I’ve read that you can just take these apart and replace the Caps, but I’m not skilled nor experienced enough to trust myself to do so. And since I live in a small town, nobody here really is that I’d trust to pay to do it for me. I’m also sorry about the low quality of this video. My webcam only does 720p@15fps, so I didn’t want to encode this with my usual settings. Also, WMV sucks as I can’t easily splice them. This video was made because tech support told me I could make pics or videos. Luckily, mine is still under warranty (just barely), so I’ll be RMAing this soon, hopefully. The problem with mine started about a year ago, where the picture would occasionally blink. Changing the screen resolution fixed it for about 6-7 hours, as did leaving it off for a while. Later, parts of the picture started “shimmering” (pixels would change colors) right before it would blink repeatedly. Finally, the colors would do what I can only describe as “strobe coloring” — they would over-contrast and distort, as well as shimmer, then the blinking got worse. Also, the buttons don’t respond very well, and I cannot adjust the brightness or contrast. Volume up/down works, but that’s about it. I’ve swapped cables and went with a (spendy, effing no good computer parts store here) HDMI cable, but it didn’t fix the problem. I cannot test the VGA output as I don’t have the adapters for it, nor …
