Blog Article: www.sleeplessninja.com iDisplay is an interesting idea. Take your android device and turn it into an extra monitor for your computer. When you have something like a Xoom, you have allot of real estate when it comes to the screen, therefore if this app works as it says it would be really sweet deal because it turns your Xoom into a battery powered portable wireless touch screen monitor. Something that you really dont’ see in the market, but perhaps there is a reason why. Lets take a deeper look at this application.

This method allows you to have the best resolution up to 1080p with the HDMI cable. The signal is digital so its clearer and more precise. Digital is always the way to go. And don’t buy the Microsoft Cable, they suck, they only support analog signals unless the only signal your screen supports is analog. Here is the website i mentioned in the video: support.xbox.com Cables shown: VGA HD/AV Cable (XBOX 360) Standard HDMI to DVI Cable Standard stereo audio cable (Xbox 360)

Reballing, Here is how I fixed the blank screen when tx2000 laptop is switched on and the lights turn on but nothing is on the screen I switched the solder on the video chip from lead free with fresh new solder so it can last long. This problem has occured to 1000s of dell, sony and hp laptops from overheating graphics which causes the video chip to fail in the solder joints where they crack and lose strength. This repair is called reballing.

***UPDATE*** Actually, I had called Dell Tech Support who told me this was a fried graphics card, but because the graphics card and motherboard are all integrated this laptop was sent back to Dell for replacement. To top it all off… this exact same problem happened AGAIN a couple months later. I ditched the Dell and went with a custom built desktop. Personally, I’ll never buy a Dell again as this is the second Dell laptop I’ve bought and had major issues with.

This is apparently a common problem with Samsung’s NC10 and N120 netbook models. Even though this was sent in for repairs to get the screen replaced, the problem did not go away and it continues to get worse. NOTE: This isn’t a hate video towards Samsung. I have purchased many Samsung products before. However, this netbook particularly has had more trouble. Please refrain from any negative comments!

UPDATE: Read my latest post on XDA-Developers forum.xda-developers.com Original Message: I bought a HTC Once X and experienced som flickering on grays, for example when clicking on the homebutton twice, where you can see the gray empty screens. There is also a problem when watching youtube on fullscreen – there is some screen glitchng but as soon as i play video with the player controlls the problem disappeared. So i thought it was hardware error, and i returned the phone and got a new one. The same problems appear again on the the second phone. I hope this is a software/driver issue. The screen flickering also appears when you change window in the browser – the animation between two browserwindows. I have uploaded, several examples on youtube, so click on all to see the big picture. Here’s a link to the original video clip that i found and tested it with on my phone: www.youtube.com Software information for the phone: Android version: 4.0.3 HTC Sense version: 4.0 Software number:1.26.401.2 HTC SDK API level: 4.11 HTC Extension version: HTCExtension_403_1_GA_3 Kernel Version: 2.6.39.4-G6B459DC root@ABM032 #1 SMP PREEMPT Mon Mar 19 14:53:27 CST 2012 Basebandversion: 1.1204.90.13 Buildnumber: 1.26.401.2 CL47163 release-keys Browser version: WebKit/534.30 Some screenshots: www.flukeworld.com www.flukeworld.com www.flukeworld.com www.flukeworld.com www.flukeworld.com

Troubleshooting with my laptop HP G60 screen. After changing the inverter and the video cable, the problem is still there. Screen boots normally. After few seconds, I can hear noise and screen light turns off within 2 minutes. UPDATE : It was a failed CCFL backlight problem
