Please read the whole description. A long time ago, someone asked if I’d make a video about the Compaq Evo D5xx computers. There were other members of this series…maybe a 300 and a 700 set of models? Here are some Compaq Evo D500 and D510 small form factor (SFF) computer systems. In this video, I compare them to the previous Deskpro EN systems and show the differences. Like the Deskpro systems before them, some of these systems have fully functional and software accessible fan control functions. Some don’t, due to the use of a different controller IC for the fans that SpeedFan doesn’t seem to understand how to operate (or that it can’t program as it wishes). The audio and graphics subsystems are also demonstrated in this video. There are also some neat things printed on the motherboard. I believe the song used (briefly!) in this video was performed by a group known as “Reunion”. I’m not 100% sure of this.

Type regedit in the Run dialogue box that pops up and click OK. This brings up your Registry Editor. You’re probably working in something like HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. Click SOFTWARE to your registry database. There are registry cleaners available, but the problem with them is they’ll scan your computer and just guess and check to remove files they don’t think should be there. You’ll definitely want to do a system backup and a registry backup before you use a cleaner. So, keep in mind the dangers of a catchall registry cleaner.
