This is apparently a common problem with Samsung’s NC10 and N120 netbook models. Even though this was sent in for repairs to get the screen replaced, the problem did not go away and it continues to get worse. NOTE: This isn’t a hate video towards Samsung. I have purchased many Samsung products before. However, this netbook particularly has had more trouble. Please refrain from any negative comments!

HP Pavilion DV series are known for their issues with the cooling system, resulting in melting the video chip’s solder and moving the video chip over if the laptop is set at an angle (like with an oversized 9 or 12 cell battery). The fix we found came from the XBox 360 fix of the red flashing light, also caused by a problem with video. You would normally want to use a re-flow station specifically made for this purpose, however, if you are like me, just bake the thing at around 400 degrees for 10mins on a flat surface, which will melt the solder and allow the suction under the video chip to pull itself back into place. So there you go – baking he motherboard fixed the issue!

Find out if you have a good or bad display Test and compare yours to the video. There seems to be at least 2 different quality displays or display contrast. The better display shown on the black model is more rich and has more vibrant colors. Also the contrast from white to black is much better. The black one in the video also has great viewing at any angle without the colors washing out. All settings are identical both have same software versions 2.2.1, one is made in Taiwan and one is made in china but not sure if this makes a difference. Let me know what you think. New S23A950d monitor. Half the screen has this problem. Dotted line down the middle of the screen and the right side is messed up. Need to turn monitor off and on a few times to get screen back to normal. Restart pc problem is back. Change input source problem is back. Dvi, Hdmi, problem is there. Dont know what this problem is. Sent monitor back to online retailer. They tested the monitor and said nothing is wrong with it. Sorry for bad quality. Recorded with a cellphone and had to get the camera real close for it to pick up the picture problem.
