Wasabi 360 Ultra Automatic Drive Key Extraction
Introducing Wasabi 360 Ultra automatic drive key extraction – no need for expensive third party drive key extraction hardware, simply plug and play. Initially we show the Xbox booting up with a fresh Wasabi 360 Ultra with no saved drive key (nor key.bin on the HDD), thus the “drive key not found” error is displayed. Then, the Xbox is rebooted while holding the LEFT button on Wasabi 360 – this enables key extraction mode. The process is very quick and once complete, you can navigate to the virtual ISO to see the result of the key extraction operation. Once the drive key has been extracted, it is saved onto the Wasabi 360 Ultra’s onboard storage and on each subsequent Xbox boot the previously saved drive key will be retrieved and used automatically. The automatic drive key extraction feature currently supports all Xbox Slim Liteon 16D4S drives, and support for the various Xbox Phat drives is currently under development. Automatic drive key extraction for Xbox Slim’s will be included in the upcoming v1.2 BETA 2 firmware release.
LG Spectrum from Verizon Software Tour
In this video, we are taking a closer look at the software on the LG Spectrum from Verizon. One would like to believe this dual-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon smartphone could conquer the Empire. To be, like R2-D2, smart, savvy, and capable of technological feats. But alas, the LG Spectrum suffers from a few fatal flaws. While it’s 4.5″ screen is bright and brilliant, the underlying Android version has been corrupted by LG’s Touchwiz-like skin, and the glossy exterior is beginning to show its dark side. There is a noticable amount of bloat on the device, very little of which can be removed, unfortunately. And even these applications were plagued with problems. For example, I’ve never been able to completely launch and use the VZ Navigator – it simply makes the device completely unusable until you reboot. Even the built-in phone dialer crashed at one point, losing a call, but acting like it was still connected (reboot again). So far, I have been completely unimpressed with the software side of the LG Spectrum. Lag, crashes, and oddities galore have sullied what could have been a good experience. And for the price, this device is quickly slipping off my recommend list. Stay tuned for our upcoming hardware tour of the LG Spectrum, where we will dig into the phone in more detail. The LG Spectrum is available for $199 on a 2-year contract from Verizon. Twitter: twitter.com Facebook: www.facebook.com
