Acer Aspire 7560 – PROBLEM!
Apologies for video quality,as it was uploaded directly from the camcorder through my spare laptop Something is happening with my Acer, and i only got it 3-4mo ago, along with 2yr EW I ran into this problem this morning and racked my brain as to how it happened. What you see in the video: 1. I plug in the battery (had a full charge) 2. The power lights glow/blink (stops when i press the power button; remains dimly lit) 3. I plug in the power brick and try again 4. Laptop powers on as normal, then suddenly powers off at startup animation 5. Try again and again. Laptop remains stable, but time it stays on shrinks to 3secs after boot 6. Check for normal sounds (fan, HDD, DVD drive, etc.) What do you think? Overheating? ( i make sure it’s on a flat surface; unknowingly remained on one time while still in my laptop bag, i thought i had turned it off) Condensation? (Laptop travels in a bag, stays inside the house if it’s raining) Dropped? (fell asleep one time while it was on the couch with me; woke up to find it on the floor and freaked) Virus? (couldn’t be, i make sure MSE is up to date, and i scan regularly or whenever it seems a touch slow Another thing was, last night (3-2-2012 @10pm) i made sure to turn it off at the Start orb and watch it turn itself off, then put it on the table with the brick plugged in for charging. Aand my mom will normally put it back on my desk in the morning before i get up. That happened, and lead up to the video you are seeing here. One thing i …

Dell 2407WFP Monitor Power Button Repair Part 1
I woke up this morning and my Dell monitor was apparently dead. I noticed that the power button didn’t snap in and out like the others so I figured that the snappy thing must have broke and I immediately began the tear down and repair. Also, I forgot to show and mention that there are four black screws on the back of the monitor housing where the stand connects that must be removed before the housing can be lifted off. And please excuse my messy hair. After all, I had just awakened to a dead Dell monitor and had to immediately begin a rescue!!

Acer PC Problems
****FIXED!***** NO MORE HELP NEEDED, THANKS FOR THE INPUT! I basically completely disassembled the PSU unit and then reassembled it as if I were putting in a new one and it all worked. THE INITIAL PROBLEM: After a power surge a few months ago, I took my PC to CompUSA to get it “fixed”, I paid $160 to take it home to this. As soon as I turn it on it makes this ridiculously loud noise (seriously, this video doesn’t do the sound justice). I, at first, assumed it was just the fan and tried adjusting its wires to no avail, then I turned it on and checked for loose wires and found the largest bundle of wires that connect to the motherboard gave me a little zap. The PC DOES turn on and function though, despite this eardrum-pounding racket. I really don’t want to take it back to CompUSA again and be robbed, AGAIN (They said it was fixed and working with them, so I clearly broke it by turning it on… right), so any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. ***I’m posting this video here to post on some PC help forums, I’ll probably take it down after I solve the problem, unless other people have it, too.***
