NOD32 is an extremely reputable company in the anti-virus world, and their online scanner is a fantastic tool for any IT professional or basic home user to have in the instance of a serious infection. One important thing to note is that this scanner will not work if you do not have networking or the internet available on the machine you are planning to run it on. That being said, this is one of the reasons we booted our computers in safe mode with networking in episode 2 of this series. Using the ESET NOD32 online scanner, I would be surprised if it didn’t locate the virus on your machine, but it wouldn’t be the first time, just hang in there – we’ll track it down.
