(From Windows XP to Windows 7 on my Compaq Presario V3000) Hi. I had the same problem and was able to fix it. I had to download 2 drivers and manually install the 1st driver. This is how I did it: First, download this(1st Link) and exctract(ex. “C:drivers” or Desktop). Now open up “Device Manager” and right-click the audio driver(High Definition Audio Codec) and click “Update Driver Software”. Click “Browse my computer for driver software”, then “Let me pick from a list of device drivers from my computer”. Click “Have disk…” then “Browse” then navigate to extraction folder, find and select the INF file(BD1VHDza.inf) to install. After installing it’s still going to say “No audio device” but don’t worry. You just have to download and install(auto-install will be fine) this(2nd Link) and then you’re done. I hope this works for you so good luck. (Not sure if first step is really necessary but it worked for me.) 1st Link: drivers.softpedia.com 2nd Link: h10025.www1.hp.com
