Shuman is a co-founder and chairman of TeachAIDS, a nonprofit social venture started at Stanford that creates research-based software to solve persistent problems in HIV prevention around the world. Used in 73 countries, TeachAIDS creates the world’s most effective HIV education materials and distributes them for free under a Creative Commons License. It is supported by organizations including Barclays, Google, UNICEF, and Yahoo. Shuman worked at Google for six years, where he led product management for protecting the company’s $20B+ advertising systems against click fraud and other threats. He joined Google as an early product manager for AdSense and helped launch Gmail.
