google-blockly user request: demo for creating/solving math problems
docs.google.com code.google.com I would really like to see a demo on blockly to create / solve math problems. Most schools drill drill drill on math but rarely connect math to logic and even less so math to coding logic and algorithms. Please consider making a demo for math problems… a couple of good reasons: a)it will get more teachers to start using blockly in the classroom b) it will solidify the connection between math / logic/ coding further resources: khan academy and codecademy example: www.codecademy.com
AT&T Archives: Seeing the Digital Future (1961)
For more from the AT&T Archives, visit techchannel.att.com In 1961, the digital future was just starting to come to fruition. And the Bell System had a number of products that had either just come onto the market, or were incipient, that implemented these new computer technologies. In December 1960, AT&T had just announced an investment of $2.5 billion for satellite communications and improving the network for data services and computer communication. In 1958, AT&T had just announced its first modem. Springing from technologies used for the computerized navigation of missiles, the modem, ie the Data-Phone, was rolled out in a few markets in the midwest. It would be made commercially available throughout the network by 1960. The Data-Phone could transmit at up to a bit-rate of 110 bits per second. This film breaks into approximately two parts — part I: the problems of the present, and part II: the way those problems could be solved by the technology of the future. This film not only serves as almost the birth of the information age, it also projects that technology far into the future. The commercial products that would allow this connected, computer-communicating network? They’re basic, but at the time seemed radical: * The wireless Bellboy Pager, which was introduced commercially in 1962 * The Data-phone, which was supposed to revolutionize business communications * The videophone—shown as a credit-card-reading vertical two-way television * The card-reading phone or …

[How To] Use TeamViewer 6 Tutorial(Free Remote PC Connection Tool)
Link: www.teamviewer.com TeamViewer has a freeware version of its program that allows you to remotely connect to other PCs. It’s a great tool that I live by, and one of the main reasons why I love it is to remote control other PCs on my home network! See the tutorial to learn more! Youtube tutorial request form spreadsheets.google.com More links and our wiki in the GameDexterity Channel! Other Misc Trivia Info: 1) I realize the tutorial is somewhat “short”. I tell it how it is. I save no time for long winded explanations. 2) If it sounds like I am rushing, well, I am. Fact is people enjoy shorter tutorial videos. If you are not one of those, sorry, learn to deal with it. I cannot win. People complain if videos are short, and if videos are long. It’s so hard to reach a compromise with the Youtube community. *sigh* 3) I use TeamViewer 6 primarily to do file transfer, and to check up on remote torrent downloads. I also used it more times than I can count to remote connect to gamers around the world to fix their port forwarding issues on their router. Isn’t that what my port forwarding tutorial video is for?!
How to fix a CD player drawer problem – #1
When CD and DVD players stop working, its usually because of the drawer not opening and/or shutting. I’ve fixed several models with that problem. Here is an example of fixing a Sony model. The gear and drawer mechanism on this model was actually somewhat different than others I’ve worked on, but all the basic issues were the same. If you like this one, you may also like my other one using a different player: www.youtube.com
Chip Currency – Card, Mobile and Internet
This is a single audio-video discussing the creation of new currencies based on new technologies or what can be called, Chip Currency or Network Currency. Initially, when considering financial systems and their problems I wondered why not just abolish money altogether but I see now that this would just create new problems. Propping up existing currencies is equally unappealing and is clearly impractical. So, we need to create alternative and/or complementary currencies that better serve our individual and collective needs. One could argue that all we need is new small businesses and local economic development to address our financial concerns. This sounds good but with all of the new millionaire’s and billionaire’s that we have there is no reason for these investments to not have already occurred if at all. The problem is not so much one of a lack of investment but rather an unfair and unequal allocation of resources. For instance, in Silicon Valley there are all of these Internet and Technology companies, so why is there not full employment for the residents of East Palo Alto? Another perfect example is Richmond, CA, where the Chevron Refinery is located but how many job opportunities are there for Richmond residents within this International Corporation? Investment sounds real good until you do the actual mathematics and it is just another word for the phrase, “the rich get richer.” The systemic inequalities within all of our present currencies are unresolvable, within …
