Detailed Review of Yamakasi 300 Sparta 30" S-IPS Monitor (Part 1)
Please note that 1 day after this video the monitor failed due to over heating of the power brick that gets very hot as I note in the video . The voltage specifications for this power brick (190v-240v) are not correct for North American 110v circuts and while some users have no problems, mine resulted in a display failure. This is also a possible fire hazard. The ebay seller is sending me a replacement and hopefully the unit is not damaged. EDIT: new 100v-240v power brick didn’t help. monitor still dead. negotiating with ebay seller for possible solution. please be aware that returning a monitor to a Korean ebay seller is very expensive ranging up to as much as the monitor itself and most if not all all ebay sellers of this monitor require the buyer to pay the return shipping if a problem occurs within 30 days. Please see below link or more discussion www.overclock.net sorry for dark video. more worth the information than the video itself. Go to full screen as the video turned out darker than planned. In this 15 minute detailed review I go over the ordering this monitor from ebay and details and specs about the monitor. Part 2 of this video will show the monitor VESA mounted, performance using some windows calibration settings, Unigine Valley benchmark and Metro 2033 and text resolution. Note that I say this is a 2650 x 1600 resolution in the video, but I meant 2560 by 1600.
Samsung 225BW LCD monitor repair
Broken Samsung 226BW LCD monitor – repair tip info.
I turned the computer on one day and my screen was flashing like a strobe light. I knew something was majorly wrong. Knowing that it could be several different things, my first guess was the power supply. So I took it apart and to my discovery it was the power supply capacitors. I replaced the capacitors and this fixed this the issue. With shipping and handling, the total repair cost was $12 dollars. I bought extra capacitors just in case this happens again. I also have a friend who has the same monitor and might need a repair in the future as well. If you are not technically inclined enough to repair your own electronic equipment, Please contact me and we can arrange repairs in the United States for a reasonable price. ——– 25v 330uf – www.mouser.com 25v 820uf – www.mouser.com
Repair Samsung SyncMaster 24 Inch 245B – similar to a SyncMaster 24 Inch 245BW
Having Problems? Display not working? The Samsung SyncMaster 245B and 245BW 24 inch widescreen LCD monitor share the BN44-00173A Power Supply. Certain issues arise with the monitors, such as blinking screen, horizontal lines, momentary display, or no display. Failed Electrolytic capacitors and resistors on the power supply are a common cause of a black screen, along with a steady flashing blue power light. A flashing blue power light may indicate further issues on the power supply, such as no voltage on the 5.3 and or 24 volt output. Purchase a soldering iron, along with a multimeter, before attempting any repairs.
