We finally get to spend some quality time with the LG 3G watch phone. The hardware is attractive, and if you’ve got wrists that are big enough, you’ll have no problem wearing the device as a watch full time. On the software end, the offering is minimal, as you might expect from a device so small. The GD910 can make and take voice and video calls, it can play music, take and display photos, keep a contact list, do math with a calculator, plus a variety of other PIM functions like voice recording, note-taking, and task list. All syncing must be done with the included dock and computer cable, so don’t expect to get wireless sync. In terms of messaging, the GD910 can do SMS, but not email. Overall, the GD910 is undoubtedly a cool device and works very well as a simple phone. Beyond that, don’t expect it to replace your smartphone. Also, with a price around $1000, it’s prohibitively expensive. If this device cost a quarter of the price, it could be a cool gadget to have around for the weekends or for times when you don’t want a smartphone in your pocket.
