I had the ejecting problem since my magnet was off, but fixed it by gluing it back. After I fixed it, the laser kept hitting the disc which made that grinding noise. Now created this video since I haven’t seen this fix on youtube. Its very simple, easy to do and works very well. I have seen all kinds of different methods and tried them all but this actually fixes it permanently. Let me know if it worked for you… Cheers !
READ DESCRIPTION FOR MORE METHODS! If your drive intermittently opens / closes make sure your terminals are making a closed circuit. If your drive gives the “open tray” error, grease up your gears and clean your motor band. Also, cleaning the laser lens w/ a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol will help. Check to make sure your laser is properly aligned, and if not re-align it. (the laser should be approx. one inch away from the circular spindle when the drive is closed. ) GOOD LUCK!
The DVD Drive in my 360 Finaly Kicked the Bucket so here is how I fixed it! My Dell Dimension E521 pc would not eject the dvd tray when the button is pushed. I came across the solution from Youtuber linli540 when I was looking at wind turbine videos. He was speaking in Taiwanese. I hope this repair in English will help you. Eager to fix my pc, I broke open the dvd reader recorder of my Dell pc. I used one piece of paper initially to reduce the magnetism of the magnet in the nylon hub attached to the upper metal case. That worked half of the time. I added a second piece of paper to cover the magnet which made it much better. You can try a thin card and glue it down well. Try nail polish instead of glue if it doesn’t adhere well. You might also want to use a small diameter paper, the size of a penny. I don’t know how long my repair would last. I was using the drive mostly to install programs and drivers. Other dvd non ejecting problem relates to worn belt drive. This is not the case with this dvd. I suspect this model Sony brand and similar dvd drives will eventually suffer this problem. Please note I am not responsible should you use my method of repair and damage your drive or dvd. Thanks for watching.
