This problem have been identified on All Retina MacBook Pro devices I tested. This problem Still Present after the 10.8.1 upgrade published the 23/08/12, if this was a simple software problem i think Apple should had resolved that. I could see this black screen unacceptable strange problem on 3 different rMBP during one week. The Apple care guy said me that he think they can’t do anything for me in this case ! The guy wasn’t very pleasant at the phone when i complained about the issue, and, i feel like a “no way discussion” saying me that i should try another one or ask a refund, or buy another model or another brand.. But i really like this model :/ A “superior” technician advised me again to try with another rMBP model if the problem appear again, i will try one more time with the same model if possible and will try the 256GO/8G RAM model, and why not try the 768GO/16G RAM if it work. I just want a Retina MBP with a resolution at 1920 / 1200 “simply working”. Apple Market at 2880/1800 but the resolution is inaccessible from the OSX Menu. www.macrumors.com I’m very surprised. Hope we will have an update/solution soon. If you have the same problem write a comment here with your configuration to try to understand if only the “512GO/8G/Quad i7 2.6” are concerned.
