This monitor would power on then go back off. This symptom is caused by a very common problem that has affected most modern computer electronics in the last 10 years. Cheap and faulty capacitors. LCD monitors are no different and you can save yourself hundreds of dollars trying to replace them by simply replacing some of the faulty capacitors inside. All you need is basic tools, some replacement capacitors and basic soldering skills. Total retail parts cost for this job was about $6, if you order them in bulk you may be able to pay less than $1!!!!!!!! This Acer monitor has been in my office for a few years, it died early and was close to end of warranty but was never shipped off due to a lazy employee in the past that waited too long.
