HACKING CISCO PHONES Just because you are paranoid doesn’t mean your phone isn’t listening to everything you say We discuss a set of 0-day kernel vulnerabilities in CNU (Cisco Native Unix), the operating system that powers all Cisco TNP IP phones. We demonstrate the reliable exploitation of all Cisco TNP phones via multiple vulnerabilities found in the CNU kernel. We demonstrate practical covert surveillance using constant, stealthy exfiltration of microphone data via a number of covert channels. We also demonstrate the worm-like propagation of our CNU malware, which can quickly compromise all vulnerable Cisco phones on the network. We discuss the feasibility of our attacks given physical access, internal network access and remote access across the internet. Lastly, we built on last year’s presentation by discussing the feasibility of exploiting Cisco phones from compromised HP printers and vice versa. We present the hardware and software reverse-engineering process which led to the discovery of the vulnerabilities described below. We also present methods of exploiting the following vulnerabilities remotely. Cisco PSIRT has assigned CVE Identifier CVE-2012-5445 to this issue. The issue is being disclosed via a Release Note Enclosure per the Cisco Vulnerability Policy. It is light enough to hold, feels good…no rough edges… very balanced. OS is of course stunning. It is so fast, both in the navigation of the phone UI, and browsing the net. Only three complaints. 1. The camera button activates the damn camera with the slightest of touch, so if you hold it in the left hand your ring finger hits it all the damned time. I do have fairly large hands, so natives to OZ may have better luck than me. 2. The Bluetooth makes initial connection to my car (2006 BMW 5)then drops the connection. My old phone was the hd7 and that uses Bluetooth 2.1, which the 8x uses as well. So no idea what that problem is all about, but a pisser nonetheless. 3. Office app and saving documents. In WP7 if you had access to your corporate SharePoint server the built in app would not connect to it unless you made somewhat major changes to the authentication process, in WP8 that is not the case. You can easily add your SharePoint site to your office app and browse with no problems q…. the complaint is after you create a site link, that link does not show up in your MS office apps. So you can create a new word doc and save it to SharePoint, you can thankfully open a doc from SharePoint mod it and save it. Over all best phone/os I have used.

I was interested to buy HTC ONE X. I was in Love with HTC ONE X. about 2 weeks I have investigated all phones in the same range. Today I wanted to really buy it, but when for the last time I wanted to check the Wifi attracted me.I have heard about the HTC issues, But I still believe in HTC company. But I do not understand what is wrong whit this phone. Why HTC should have problem???? This is really disappointing… I really want it, but … what do you think guys … help me and other friends to have a good choice. Problems description : The first one is when I had tried to open media player the red frame was appeared on the screen. The second one is about the wifi : Do attention to the connection name, both devices are in the same place, TM wifi is the wifi’s name, the white color which has problem in screen aslo can not connect to the wifi, but when I pushed the screen( the place of wifi antenna) the signal raised. but in the black color you can see the wifi signal is almost full, the seller told me this might be the software problem, but when I pushed the screen that was clear the problem is not about software.

Uros has solved a problem that has irked me for a long time. Why is data on my phone so expensive abroad? They are making roaming charges obsolete by introducing their mobile hotspot Goodspeed. Goodspeed connects to local carriers and creates a wireless LAN that connects your laptop or phone to the internet. It currently works in 10 European countries and they hope to get to 30 countries soon. Inside the device are 10 sim card slots that are supplied by their partner carriers. In Finland they have teamed up with DNA and will be selling Goodspeed through DNA shops. The monthly subscription of 9,90 € gives you unlimited use it in your home country. Using it abroad is an additional 5,90 € per day. The device itself costs 269 €.
